February 25 is NOT a Working Holiday

Only students will be on vacation on the 25th of February this 2011 as the special holiday only apply to schools. Companies and government offices will still have to work at regular pay. This is in line with President Benigno S. Aquino III’s Presidential Proclamation No. 84, declaring the 25th EDSA Revolution anniversary as a special holiday only for schools.

Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Lorelei Fajardo said that February 25 was not included in the list of holidays under Proclamation 1699 issued by President Arroyo setting the holidays for 2009. In spite of this, the government is still urging the people to join in the celebrations as they have prepared a lot of activities commemorating the EDSA Revolution I.
